Delaware senior Megan Klein has been selected to the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association
Girls Academic All-State Basketball Team for the 2005 season.
Megan is
a three-sport athlete for the Hawks. In addition to being a starting guard on
the basketball team she is the lead off runner for a number of relays on the Hawk
track team and also anchors second base for an outstanding West Delaware Hawk
softball team.
This year's Academic All-State Basketball Team consists
of 26 players who were selected from a nomination pool of nearly 150 players statewide.
To be nominated, a senior player must have a minimum ACT score of 25,
a 3.0 GPA and be in the top 25% of her graduating class.
This year's team
boasts the following team averages: An ACT composite of 29.5; a grade point average
of 3.99, with 19 of them being either number one or number two in their respective
classes. In addition, as a team, they average slightly over 10 points per game.
